Dog Leash

Materials: Three skeins of Manos del Uruguay wool in three coordination colors, leash clip, Size I crochet hook.

Gauge: about. 4 chains per inch (before felting)

Instructions:

Chain 100 inches (about 400 chains) in each color three times each (total of 9 separate chains)

Secure three chains – one of each color- together at each end. Braid these three chains together and secure at other end. Repeat this step twice more (three braids.)

Secure the three braids together at one end and braid the three smaller braids together and secure at the other end.

Fold one end of the leash over about nine inches (creating a loop for the handle) and secure with two seams sewn with leftover wool.

Slide the leash clip onto the leach on the opposite end of the leash and fold the leach over the clip. Secure the clip by sewing two seams with leftover wool.

Felt the leash by placing it in a zippered pillowcase the run it through a hot/cold agitation and rinse cycle (not the spin cycle) along with several towels or old jeans. You may have to run the leash through more than one cycle to get it to felt to the desired tension.
